Alan Murchison returns to BBC2

L’ortolan Chef competes for Great British Menu success
The Executive Chef of Reading’s only Michelin starred restaurant will go head to head with other star cooks in the fifth series of the BBC’s Great British Menu which airs this Easter.
Alan Murchison, who appeared on the 2009 series, will be one of 24 chefs battling it out to cook for HRH Prince of Wales at a banquet to celebrate British produce.
Alan, who will be representing Scotland, will travel from L’ortolan restaurant in Shinfield to Aberdeenshire to source his produce.
“The whole team are really pleased that Alan is taking part in the Great British Menu again this year” says proprietor Peter Newman, “we all wish him the best of luck.”
“It’s an honour to join a line-up of such superb chefs” says Alan Muchison. “The whole experience offers a great opportunity to meet inspirational suppliers from my home region and to learn new techniques from the best.”
