Will Holland wins at The Acorn Awards

 Everyone at l’ortolan would like to congratulate Will Holland, a previous L’ortolan Head Chef, and now Head Chef at La Becasse, on winning a top industry award.

The Acorn Awards, now in their 23rd year annually recognize the best rising talent, all of whom are under the age of thirty.

 “I nominated Will for this highly prestigious award in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the company,” says l’ortolan and La Becasse’s Chef Patron Alan Murchison, “He is a first class chef and a great leader.”

Former Acorn winners include high-profile chefs Marco Pierre White, Gary Rhodes and Michael Caines.

Will is thrilled to be selected as one of the top young hospitality figures for 2009: “It really is amazing to win an Acorn. Since I started out in the industry, I have always been aware of The Acorns happening each year and admired the previous winners, but I never thought that I would be one of them. It is a real privilege to be amongst them now.”

 To see Will in action tune into BBC 1’s Saturday Kitchen Live on 11th July where he will be joining presenter James Martin, and along with other celebrated chefs will take part in the infamous Omelette Challenge!
