Shaun wins YCYW Southern Final 2009

L'ortolan Chef Shaun Wins Regional Final
L’ortolan would like to congratulate chef Shaun Dickens on winning the Young Chef Young Waiter (YCYW) 2009 Southern Regional Final.
Shaun, who has worked at l’ortolan since April, fought of stiff competition from other young chefs from across the south before being crowned the regional winner.
“The whole team is delighted at Shaun winning the Southern regional final,” say Alan Murchison, “ It really shows the quality and calibre of the young professionals that we have in our team .”
Celebrating the abilities of Chef’s under 25, the YCYW competition matches the skills of talented youngsters against each other, at the same time as enabling them to gain extra knowledge and to boost their confidence.
Organised by the British Hospitality Association and The Restaurant Association the competition will reach its climax on Tuesday 6th October when the national finals are held at Westminster Kingsway College, London.
“Shaun has been an enthusiastic and skilled addition to our team.” Says l’ortolan Head Chef Robin Gosse, “We wish all him well in the national final.”
