Organic, biodynamic and fully 'natural' wine
We source wines from some of the most sought after producers working in these ways. They are indicated with splendid green bin numbers on the list. The best wines of the past were all natural: the same could be said of today, in an elusive marriage of excellence meets ethics. The most natural, in both farming and winemaking, are grouped together on our speciality 'natural' pages. As might be expected, they can be positively different from 'conventional' wine in appearance and taste: do ask before ordering to know more.
Wine Matching
We are constantly tasting and tuning our wine offering with the ever changing menu. We love to introduce the 'fruit' of that work. Whether you are looking for the ideal bottle(s) to accompany your food choices from the menu, or a selection by the glass to go with each course from our tasting menus, our Sommelier would be happy to guide you. Or, just leave the choice to us, with appropriate parameters of course…
Just a Glass?
We're aware that a bottle is sometimes a bit much. Half bottles and wines by the glass available. In addition, we almost always have a variety of other wines that we can offer by the glass, including fully ‘natural’, eclectic and genuinely special examples. Please, just ask.

Head Sommelier Stephen Nisbet
Stephen is a most remarkable chap, being jolly understated and modest, yet also strangely knowledgeable, and quietly passionate. He has a rare gift for understanding both l'ortolan food and his wines, also how the two might meet in the mouth. He certainly favours real wine: finesse over brawn, ‘natural’ to artificial, mineral notes not ‘toasty new oak’, but he never dictates. He has straight examples of some of the classics for you, through to wine styles you probably didn’t even know existed. Why not tell him what you usually drink, ask him for recommendations predictable to eclectic. He’ll never let you down, and you will usually have an enhanced experience.
