About our events

We always strive to keep things at L'Ortolan seasonal and fresh, just like our menus. Thus, we come up with new ideas for seasonal events, based around specific ingredients, foods & drinks.

Our universal goal is to work on various pairings between unique elements, some very well-known while others a little less.

In the past we have held countless events involving wine, whiskey, port, cocktails, beer and more, always making sure the quality of products met with our approval and fascination

- was it either a flight of orange wines from vineyard situated on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily,
- the best variety of champagne from some of its greatest houses from Reims in Champagne, France,
- or a selection of beers coming from local brew masters in Newbury.

We also managed to work together with some of local Cheese makers, where they would amaze us with their vast knowledge and passion towards their craft, which concluded in award winning British cheeses - some of which are still available on our Cheese trolley to this very day.

But it all wasn't just about food & drink. We have teamed up with our local florists - Sarah Dodson & her talented team from Flowerstalk in Shinfield, to present our guests' with opportunity to learn about the modern ways of putting together a lovely bouquet for any occasion or the biggest and prettiest wreath just in time for Festive season.

Furthermore, we have had the most fun arranging "Super Car Day" every couple of years, allowing our guests to sample not only the best food & wine but also to drive some of the most exclusive - and fastest! - cars available on the market.

Now, we continue to come up with unique ways of combining the enjoyable aspects of fine dining and pairing them with fine wines, cider, cocktails and more.
